Hosanna

Dear Colleagues,

Living in a Fool’s Paragraph.
Here is a tale told by an idiolect.

home sweet home

“For Milton, Paradise is never lost
but remains always available within
the human heart, even as it is eternally
created within the divine heart.

Milton steadfastly believed what he has
Satan, all unaware of the full truth that
he utters so ringing-ly, proclaim, that:

“The mind is its own place.
and in itself can make a
Heav’n of Hell, a Hell
of Heav’n’”

(Sampling Dr. Bradshaw’s course description
for next fall’s English 343: Milton)

Well and good for Milton to have Satan
say so, implying a Paradise Within no
longer Postponing Joy (assuming one’s
depictive representations
are adequately interpretable at
the neuronal substrate level
where thinking takes place).

This is Liberal-Art kind of talk (not to be
confused with liberal arts): talk that talks
the power of mind to make a room of its
own (is this heaven or is this hell?) &
what- it-takes in “talk terms” (depictive re-
presentations as the Annals of Cognitive
Science say) to do what-it-takes to satisfy
“neuronal substrate levels where thinking
takes place” & bring about
Peace Within
shalom,
salaam, or
salem
(choose your way of talking)
as opposed to, differentiated & distinguished
from Peace Without when troops might be
marching home.

For days I’ve been mixing sounds of Cognitive
Neuro-Psychological kind of talking & something
approximating EngMajor ululations to turn up the
dissonance between the 2 ways & how they don’t
Just Get Along & should not: their discord pre-
requisite for emergence of the moiré effect

Dream of a Common
Uncommon Language

Each Major: its own depictive representational
system) & imagine the sound of moiré music as
we orchestrate Our Local Liberal Art collegially
talking in pillars of holy smokes, babble &
glossolalia: speaking tongues of
fire —intellective fire,
that is.

Local Mind: minding mindfully it’s own Hotel
California, turning UP (so as to Put In Play)
profound incompatibilities between cognitive
process (deductive reasoning) channeled into
the collective mind of strategists within the formal
planning process and the essentially inductive
reasoning process actually needed to address
ill-defined complex strategic situations.

Raising the dead:
Resurrection devoutly to be desired.
Hosanna (“save now!”)
