Provocation

PRO-VOCATION

“The trouble with trying
to be provocative, Sam—
you’re liable to provoke.”

A hall-mate informs me
& it’s true: the trouble with
my vocation for years: a
calling to provoke, educe,
educate. To try: essay.

I say it’s the liberal art but
that’s self serving and
worth argument.

Presumption—to provoke
without provoking, educate
without educing: no harm
done & a good time had
by all.

There has to be an
environment for it .
Call it School
(schola: “leisure time”)

Other wise too much
offense, too much
defense, too many
scruples to sustain
the play of mind it
takes to get good.

COMING OUT

Dis-Embarrassmental Studies
& Leadership Programs

Analogic:

Academics: Work: Service
(Life of Polite Policed Body-Politic)
is to
Theory: Practice: Performance
(Life of Mind Minding).
as
Provoke
is to
Provoke

It’s the SAME difference:
can you tell it?
Sustain it?
Relate?

I’m just asking.
Drawing distinctions = the heart
of thinking—true? And arguing
them out: the heart of academics:
(our work program.)

Getting on the same page from
time to time? Some sustainable
agree-ability to provoke & be
provoked, out of the box and
yet in it, too!

An Environmental Issue.

Singing School Service
projected to the Muse.
An aroma pleasing to
god's nostrils.

Compose & Be Composed.
play & be played

Talking School Mode, here. Not to
be collapsed, conflated,
and
confused with Church & State.

xxxooo, Sam
