I approve this message

Dear Colleagues,

I’m handing out all “A’s” for mid-
term, does anyone have a problem
with that?

Thought it might improve the economy.
Pump in some trust and flow: get
creative juices moving borrowing
and lending between left and right
hands, Peter and Paul—not that they
know what each is doing. Or should.
Au contraire.

But that there be commerce between
them. Two hands clapping and not
just the sound of one

So I figured: give them all A’s.
Desperate times. Desperate
measurements: take the fear and
trembling in learning to fly somewhat
out of the Knowledge Acquisition
Game and put IT in play, damnit,
everyone with a laptop’s as good as
the smartest kid in class & image-I-
nation counts more than knowledge
any way; the journey’s the destination,
Joy always waiting to be poned, and
the type of thinking that got us into
this mess can’t be the kind that gets
us out, so I’m going to give them
All A’s
tweak the economy of hire education
by removing it’s ex-officious built-in
Procrustean grade-gun authority in one
sector at least and see what there is to
see.

Experimental Studies in
Leadership program.

Free them up to put more time in all
you guy’s courses: the rigor & high
volume demand of science and math,
sociology, women’s studies, psyche-
ology of creativity, 18th century lit and
the like. Ought to improve course
evaluations there where it counts,
and in the mean times we can just be
fooling around with ideas in my neck
of the groves playing with the life of
the mind wondering: what? what the?
what the hell? what the hell kind of a
deal is that?

You know: original spin & the
beginnings of liberal art. might
could re-invigorate the whole
system: resurrect & revive who
knows? Desperate measurements.
Desperate assessments. .Desperate
Times, my friends.

xxxooo, Sam
