SHOOTERS

SHOOTERS

When you shoot a rife,
if you are serious and aim
to hit the mark—a fixed
target, no Heisenbergian
indeterminacy: you take
pains carefully to align
sight & goal & sustain a
stable ratio of arm-to-
shoulder self-corrections
moment to moment by
virtue of local feedback
squint and finger gently
squeezing off a round.

Bang. One shot!

Take a look
See how you did.
Do it over again.

When you shoot a shot gun and you are avid &
intend to bring down a batch of ducks—moving
targets (no Heisenbergian indeterminacy) rising off
the wetlands you got to get good at shooting & shooting
& shooting if not from the hip somewhere in-between
hip and shoulder maybe —bang bang, damnit—leading
the flock & recalibrating the whole shooter system by
many trials & many errors: none of this oh-be-careful
one-at-a-time deals so help me Frank Kalinowski who
can always improve my terms & images. I beg for
difference.

(I already mentioned: St Valentine was clubbed
to death for healing a blind girl--the jailer's daughter,
him: incarcerated for shifting from Paganism to Xtianity.
All you need is love.We already know that.)

xxxooo, Sam
