The Other Environmentalism

End Days

Turkey vulture overhead. Circling
the piggery. My state bird. Used to
be mocking birds—manic babblers.
Later: wood thrush.

Writing-off end-of school depression.
Compose & Be composed.
Life-long sport.
Liberal art.

“I won’t quit school,” the youngster
told Michelle, challenged on
how to “help the President.”

“Never give up,” says Donald Trump:
his reason for success.

“It’s great to have a private jet.
Anyone that tells you having
your own private jet isn’t great
is lying …” Oprah, to Duke
graduating seniors.

An enormous elephant in my office:

students handing in final work.
Brown Gnostic patter:
thanks enjoyed it
glad to hear it
what’s up this
summer
excellent
have a
goodun
you too
thanks
thanks…

Mocking bird cranked-up in the
hemlock at 3:30 this a.m. & ran
through a repertoire redundantly
& repeatedly till sunrise.

Reminds me of Susan Boyle.
Couldn’t remember her last
name. Googled Susan-the-
Singer & got it. Instant
celebrity. World
Wide.

Any voice can break through.
These days it's possible.

Media is the message,
not the message.
