Chapter 5 Fight Club
Turn-the-other-cheek sounds
pious & probably is politically
but psychologically: exquisitely
practical.
The Accuser Accuses Accusingly.
Acts of cerebral & affective warfare,
improvised explosive devices
designed to disembowel
& eviscerate: not for
rebuttal at all. .
Turn the other cheek, so to speak.
No yes-butts need apply. Make no
reply, nor rejoinder, no counter-
point or can-you-here-me-
now!
No defense worth defending but
some un-crucified ego remnant
tatter waiting to be blown away,
nirvana-ized thank god: there’s
no arguing with grenades.
Got to love the enemy, sure:
but not so-to-speak & don't
talk back
yakkety yak.
Rice off a rhino, is all—
shoulder scrunch
flank-flicker,
tail twitch,
ear turning
to take in
the talk
listening.
