Ok: after we’ve exposed the
emptiness of all our words…
[[any one can test this:
simply pick a word, any
word, that carries some
weight…
(scape-goating: a beast
of burden: all our words
and representations)
…and ask:
Well what to you mean by
“love”
“evil”
“capitalism”
“sustainable”
“selfish”
“altruistic”
“transcendental”
“romantic”
“reason,”
“logic”
“ rational…
And then watch how the con-
verse-action spirals into a
nose-dive as all varieties
of definition demolish
meaning LIKE: skinning an
onion, falling autumn leaves,
exploding a bubble gum.
pushing a metaphor,
collapsing the famous box
we all want to think outside
of, killing Schodinger’s cat,
switching horses in mid-stream....
.
I beg you to try this in various
contexts, and especially
various classrooms just
to see how far the annihilation
of meaning is allowed to
proceed before being cut-off
“Enough of this insanity!
We all KNOW what
x y z means, damnit:
let us continue to cover
ground & getRdone
damnit.”]]
…as I was saying before I
digressed: after we’ve exposed
the emptiness of our words,
& pieces of meaning &
definition like sweet dreams
& flying machines lie wasted
on the ground...
Some one asks
WHAT NEXT?
righteous && responsible:
SO WHAT? WHAT DO
WE DO NOW?
And we go to lunch! Perfect.
Liberal art for liberal art’s sake.
(Not for every body, but maybe
you’re not for every body, too.)
