CAPSTONE

Capstone

Thou has most traitorously
corrupted the youth of the
realm in erecting a grammar
school… It will be proved to
thy face that thou hast men
about thee that usually talk
of a noun and a verb, and
such abominable words as
no Christian ear can endure
to hear. Jack Cade,
King Henry VI, II
W. Shakespeare

Our linguistic TEXTBOOK illustrates
what there is to be known about language
& it’s like trying to suck the ocean dry
with a straw: don’t come close to what
goes on when we sit in silence or break
into converse-action. Merely describes
(systematically, I admit) parts of the
parts of the parts of the parts
of TALK.

Nor does it do justice to Helen Keller.

Unfortunately we find systems of education
today which have departed so far from the
plain truth, that they now teach us to be
proud of what we know and ashamed of
ignorance. This is doubly corrupt.

It is corrupt not only because pride is in
itself a mortal sin, but also because to teach
pride in knowledge is to put up an effective
barrier against any advance upon what is
already known, since it makes one ashamed
to look beyond the bonds imposed by one’s
ignorance.

From G. Spencer Brown’s Laws of Form.
Brown is a mathematician
which word derives from the
Indo European mendh :
“to learn.”

How can he remember well his ignorance-
which his growth requires- who has so
often to use his knowledge? (HDT)

“Imagination is more important than
knowledge,” says Einstein but that’s
easy for him to say: he’s Einstein.

Imagine the renewable, renewing
and sustainable local resource
if we could only tap into it::
our ignorance, our attention
deficiency just waiting to
be put in play.

The play’s the thing:
ludicrous!.
