Nature & Nurture & Can They Just Get Along

  General Education

I The Principle of Least Effort
            (Nature’s Way)

Emerging properties (if not values)
are always going-on: state of the
evolutionary art regardless—like a
tree falling in  the woods: it don’t
care who hears or doesn’t.  Crash
and burn—the  slow smokeless
holocaust of decay..

II.   The Path of Least Resistance
        (Human Nature’s Way)

Don’t we want to make things right,
achieve Peace (Least Resistance)
best we can according to our own
terms of desire & lucid scheming
rationality?

We call it sustainability these days
and even if it involves much  slip
sliding around, I’ll  still take the
path of  what I think’s the least
resistance over all. Who creates
conscious  obstacles for himself
unless it’s  framed as game or sport.

I want to be good so bad I can’t afford
the  bad-it-takes.
Looking good counts.
Not bad. Makes it difficult actually to
achieve proficiency pretending to have
it all along.

Smart, for example: in this business
look smart even if stupid’s actually
the ongoing prerequisite for study,
innovation & new knowing.

Got to hide your dumb away.

Acting-good (Path of Least Resistance)
maintains professional credibility &
rigorous classroom control but the
cost’s considerable: sacrificing
the bad-it-takes to get smart
& smarter

Double bind, damnit: damaged goods
if  I do & if I don’t: damaged,  too.
The damage done!
