Strange Bedfellows Bridging Across Babara Walters

Mission Impossible

To Critique the Species in front of the children
without demoralization or pot & kettle-istic
liability: sanctify the

         Marriage & Odd Coupling of
          Glenn Beck & John Stewart,
       Rachel Maddow & Ann Coulter

pees in the same pod, pods peeing into the same
whole—reaching across the  aisle, so to speak:
bridging across a troubled Barbara Waters to see
how alike we all are .our  hopes & fears of all the
years.

      Oppositional, sure. But complementary.
We complete each other. Buffoonery all
around & from Jane Goodall’s point of
view there’s no such thing as a bad monkey.

   Environmentalisms

Look:

as far as Us-as-Faculty is concerned, (no matter
our inner diversities), we’re pretty darned straight..

Us Roderick Usher straight-arrow-
academics: full of purpose, ways &
means & mission possible:aims & ends,
direction,  measurable objectives and
assessable goals, attention efficient,
rubric evaluate-able, power-point
presentable presenters.

Wouldn’t you agree?

Rigor characterizes us Rodericks in the
House of Ushers so to speak  not not not
this covered up and denied  Madeline, sent
to the cellar catatonic—unused and therefore:
abused (a domestic violence)

Non-Straight. Antithesis  of STRAIGHT, diabolically
opposed to linearity, violation and offense to ducks in
a row—all-at-once simultaneity incommensurate to
once upon a time and one at a time for the time being..

When Faulkner and Joyce introduced their streams of
unconscious-to-conscious ratios to the whirl of fiction,
it struck critics and commentators as strange, uncanny—
non- sequential, hap hazard.  And MTV, remember: all
those images at seeming odds and lack or correlation
with the lyric intensity? Illogical. Irrational.

And yet IT’s closer to  how-I-think than these surface
sentences sentencing consequence and my because &
affect.  I’m just saying, see what I’m saying?

IT,.I said. .

Without contraries is no progress.
I see we are approaching paradox:
we must be making progress.
