It’s common sense and convention to
call the rock hard. Yet “hardness” is
the word for the relationship between
rock and man. To call rock hard is to
reify a triadic relationship and slap it
on one corner of the triangle as if
located there, as if a characteristic
of a part of the whole rather than
descriptive of the relationship.
"The rock is hard," I say.
But it’s not It’s the
relationship between
two: butt & rock: an
emerging phenomenon
each time they get
together & generate
the “hardness.”
"Cat is a sneeze-maker," I insist, .
sniffling & sneezing at the power
of cat: its uncanny capacity to bring
tears to my eyes every time we’re
near each other. .
"And Shakespeare’s a genius.".
I claim for the same or
similar reasons.
