Dear Colleagues,
Received an announcement this morning
about a community conversation ont
Faith & Higher Ed at WWC
(Tue 6/7 noon in Glad)
Always for the sake of argument: maybe
consider this fundamental distinction (aka:
belief, assumption) and my "Sense" Triad
below--so as to put IT in play.
Possibly.
The Heart of Thinking is Drawing
Distinctions
“belief”
(aka: bias, conviction, prejudice) makes
common sense whatever it’s subject—
logical and rational even in its presumption:
basis for explanation, reasons why,
because-&-affects
“faith”
is absurd, illogical, irrational, indefensible:
might as well turn the other cheek –both
actually and walk away. “Faith” is nonsense
if not no-sense-at-all.
&&&&&&
3 Mothers of Invention
no sense at all
(parabolical: to throw beyond)
sense
(symbolical: (dia-bolical: to
to throw together) throw across)
If possible: do not conflate, collapse, of confuse
otherwise the distinctions are lost and it's all one.
*********
(After fasting for days, a holy man came off the
mountain, walked up to a hot dog vendor as asked:
"Make me one with everything."
Receiving his dog, he gave the seller $10.
And asked: "Where's my change, then?"
"Change is within," says the hot dog man.)
