It's my real-time where I work,
sitting on my ass indulging fantasy
and fiction (mother of invention,
fact and faction)
Theorizing for heaven's sakes
Here: maybe a patter than connects:
put it into practice and see how it
serves
Dirty work, I suppose, if you are
practical-minded in the common
sense.
We (me and Fred Solomon) used to
have to try and disarm the workers
with thier golf carts full of tools and
weed-eaters, us sitting on the steps
of Spidel summer mornings hours
on end.
"Don't worry about us," Fred would
call to them. "We're just bullshititing
here." It hurt them, a bit, or amused--
to see us parked and mutually
contemplative.
O what a crime against nature and
GetRDone compulsion. We knew
we were bad guys--and if you admit
it before accusation, it goes somewhat
better for you. Somewhat, I said.
