Converse Action
I don’t listen—disobedient. Or read
except to spot what serves my agenda
don’t matter what the Other says or
writes I’m looking to confirm my bias
and belief system—homeland securities,
Directional Navigational Algorithms. I
take, turn, and twist other’s words to
suit me and to show off.
Just describing here, is all.
I have to look good, pious, clever, wise
as the situation demands: not stupid,
dumb, naïve. Even if I reveal my ignorance
it’s in order to make me look smart, if not
good. Like right here now: see how Naked
I Am! A cover-up. An eminence front.
Makes common sense.
What I’m looking to cultivate, however,
is a way of talking out of 3 sides of my
mouth at once so to speak: simultaneously
doing justice to hot & cold and Temperature
all at the same time with no confusion: good
guys & bad guys and Overall Monkey Business,
liberal & conservative and Governance; affect
& intellect and Willy/Nilly going on without
doing injustice to the opposition it takes,
loving the enemy or else forget about it.
Nonsense, of course, as far as common
sense is concerned.
On the one hand and on the other hand
so there’s no talk about only one hand
clapping.
