I am monumentally invested in
appearing decent, concerned,
caring, responsible, adult &
appropriately shocked &
appalled , open-minded . . .

tolerating both life & choice,
immigration & deportation,
a good listener,  conservative
as well as risk-taker, spiritual
but not so much religious.

This makes me liable to accusation
on both sides of the I’ll & almost
defensive at times if I don’t watch out.
