Teaching & Learning Styles: RIGOR & Innovation

  Rigor & Innovation

On the one hand, IMAGINATION:
Innovation,  Invention. Often
described  as  “Creativity”
but  that word's as
slippery as
sustain
ability.

Characterized by rooms for play,
fooling around,  messing and guessing,
abduction, reduction, overstating,
understating, switching meta force
in mid-stream  oops. oh my,
excuuuuse me:
that is not
what I meant at all.

Mongrel-ization, hybridization, clash
of  incommensurate values & systems
biases & belief,  doubting & doubling
down: something like I said, not is  for
crying out loud: there's a difference.

On the Other Hand: Knowledge.

discrete
measurable
assessable
referenced
documented
instrumental
cumulative
shared
communal
collective
replicable
lucid, clear,
consistent,
coherent
valued and
evaluated in
terms of aims,
goals, and
measurable
outcomes.

Improve my terms.
We can argue.

(No one loves the sound of
one hand  clapping. )

Knowledge, however, despite
Albert's bias & acclimations,
kicks Imagination's ass.
Pity.  Such a Bully
