SACS & CREATIVITY: & how they learned to Just Get Along

SACS and Creativity and how they learned to
              Just Get Along.

Dear dears,

We might could get closer to the same page
if not paragraph and sentence (probably too
close for comfort),  if we could share this
distinction:

   HAP: What’s Actually Happening (WAH)
on  the one hand

     and

Ways We Talk About WAH  (WWTAH)
on the other hand.

and enjoy a common awareness of these  2 radically
different  “economies” ( let’s say, or “cultures”) so that
we wouldn’t necessarily  have to confuse ourselves and
the issues  by collapsing and conflating them.

Ways of Talking. Imagine: being able to talk about
How we Talk & are Talking and not just be
talking about it..

This way we could talk about Varieties of Teaching &
Learning Experiences as well  as structures and
environmental issues, calendars and schedules
and advising and remedial measures,
persistence and  retention,
attendance tracking,
counseling &
“support”
protocols
without confusing  the issues:

  Liberal Arts. Critical Thinking, Life-long
Benefits, Hunger-for Knowledge, Intellective
Desire, Matriculation & Commencement
Kinds of Talk celebrating the Academic
Tradition.

with

How IT actually is day to day..
    What motivates. Get R Done
    Optimizing and juggling the
    requirements, pre-requisites,
    dead lines, Check IT off,
take the credit and run crying
out loud for crying out loud.

And do no disservice to either realm, mode, economy,
culture nor tie ourselves up in Gordian naughts standing
on two sides of the I’ll and  yelling across the
incommensurate abysss.. .

(I love this!  Should be obvious. THIS, I said. Do I got
to be spelling THIS out?  You know what I’m talking
about, I bet you 10 thousand dollars!  The grooves
and groves of  Academia. GOT to love it. Life time
achievement.)

xxxooo, Presbyter
