Early to Bed. Early to Rise.

Cargo Cult

That 3rd Thing (watchamacallit)
beyond me, necessary &  sufficient:
no works or whips or gnashing of teeth
no slapping my forehead in consternation
hastens its arrival, brings it about any
moment now for the time being

The truth, he thought, has never been
of any real value to any human being—
it’s a symbol for mathematics and
philosophers to pursue. In human
relations, kindness and
love are
worth a thousand truths.

Despair is the price one pays for setting
oneself an impossible aim. It is, one is
told, the unforgivable sin, but it is a sin
the corrupt and evil never practice.

Only the man of good will carries always
by his heart—this capacity for damnation.
    (
Graham Greene: The Heart of the Matter)

If a fool persist in his folly
         he becomes wise.

I don’t get any extra pay for this, in case you
wondered. When I was at camp, my old man
came to
visit, took me down by the river and
told me about Solomon. "You can be wealthy
OR
you can be wise  Take your pick."
