The heart of Thinking = drawing distinctions
The heart of Academics = arguing them out
The heart of Liberal Art = relating them
Liberal Arts: change of mind going on.
Liberal Art: change of mind-set (frame)
FRAME DISCOURSE.

Is this
Play or
Not
Play? ( The Y factor.)
3 ways of framing HAP (what’s happening: let the
boxing match stand for IT ALL: biff & bam, struggle
& strife, conflict, contrast, comparison, all the opposition
we swim in with and against the flow, how could it be
otherwise: just breathing defies gravity, not to mention
walking to Glad: it’s ONE against all the rest, true?
descriptively speaking—I am not you and without
contraries is no progress, need we argue?)
As play.
As not play.
As—hmm: is this play or is this not play?
Frame Discourse
How to frame misanthropy as sweetness and light
so it don’t generate knee-jerk resistance, defense,
denial and cover-up?
& how to frame our confusion and ignorance
as Mothers of Invention and prerequisite to the
ongoing practice of liberal art as life-long
x-treme sport?
Turn IT up.
How to frame an environment that encourages failure
and finds clarity highly suspect as just the right
atmosphere for collaborative genius not to be
collapsed, conflated or confused with
individual achievement not that
there’s anything wrong with
THAT.
Why we celebrate clarity and salute consistency
is because we are Finished Product Specialists ,
Consumer-Guides telling what’s good and not,
Howard Cosell commentators on the pugilistic
fight-club gladiators of the cerebral/affective agon
contest thru the ages: thumbs up and thumbs down:
we can talk about the done-deal: what’s worthy
and what’s not, walk thru an art gallery, library of
great books, analyzers of Minding-Having-Happened
all done and over and criticize the finished product,
done deal, per-fected, per-fictioned. Perfect—
us: perfectionists & forget about the mess it takes.
