How Many Doctors in the House does it Take. . .

Doctor Doctor: Give Me the News

The only one who calls me doctor
is my dentist’s assistant

My brother-in-law was a heart
surgeon and my uncle worked
on  brains.

Uncle William invented tools for

lobotomies called Scoville Retractors

He once slipped up and reconfigured
a patient’s
  memory.  Had to be re-
introduced to his wife every time he
saw her for the rest of his life.

Be here now: where he lived from then
on. Now only.

My brother-in-law made enough to buy
a grill-your-own steak house
on Tunnel
Road where I took  Doctor
Mycoff during
his candidate
interview.

A hagiographer: Dr. M  taught me the
meaning of saintly, what
it's like to be
one.

Docile. Docent. Doctor  initially meant to
take, to teach, “to come to be
accepted."

When they call for one in the house, they
aren't asking for me &  my philosophy.
