Where There is No Peace.
The common ground in fighting
is the fighting itself: fighting for
fighting’s sake. And the same
with argument: disagreement
sustained & cherished by the
argument & disagreement
going on ongoing.
Like marriage. Like rugby.
No contraries: no progress.
More important than agreeing
is sustaining the disagreement
so as to keep up the good fight,
argument, converse action,
war: onward xtian soldiering.
Liberal art. Got to love it.
The Opposite of Catch 22
For the Sake of Argument I troll
for food: to afflict the afflicted &
the comfortable too though the
comfortable are comfortable,
impervious, impenetrable, un-
afflict able because righteous.
No doubt.
If I beat you in an argument,
I’m delighted. If I lose & you
find me revolting & despicable:
I win even more magnanimously
confirming my righteousness
by your rejection.
Must be out of the box, for sure.
Not as the world rewards!
Self Fulfilling Profit-ry
If I beat you in an argument,
I must be smart because I beat
you; and if I didn’t, I must be
smart because you couldn’t
understand me.
It is the case, however, that it's
impossible to win an argument.
Can’t pin the tale on any donkey.
Ever. Need we argue?
Fools Rush Inn
Although I write, I am no writer,
o contrary. Means & media is all
writing is for me—excoriator, critical
stinker, rage against I- screams,
provocateur wanna-be, gab fly,
afflictor afflicting: no pretty poems,
sunsets, pelicans skimming surf,
sugar, spice, everything nice re-
affirming ah the humanity &
heavens ‘to Betsy.
Just the opposite: rip smash & ruin:
tear the veil, ruffle feathers, jiggle
the cage, poke the elephant, state the
obvious, scratch the itch, salt wounds
pinch bruises, blow the whistle, trip
the alarm, burst balloons, pee on
parades, piss off a pope, paddle the
presumptions, & rush in where
angels merely dread – consummation
devoutly desired. .
Fundamental.
