Belief on the One Hand: Faith on the Other

 The difference between
    "belief" and "faith"?

   A difference that makes a
difference or merely a distinction?

       Tomato / tomahto?

Faith: "By virtue of the Absurd"—
Kierkegaard  called it. Makes no
sense at all. Beyond common sense.
Beyond belief & Unbelief. Beyond
the Goodies & the Weasels. Beyond
the sensible & the ridiculous. Beyond
defense & offense--well, maybe
not beyond offense.

Faith.

Beyond the rational & the irrational,
the logical &  the illogical:  beyond
pretty  & ugly—skinny & fat, beyond
nose jobs  & blow jobs, face lifts &
crows feet, conservatives & liberals,
nice guys & nasty, good grades and
lousy, conscientious and cavalier,
nonchalant and uptight. .

yonder

Beyond "well-said" and stutter,
stammer and stunning, beyond
muddle and clarity, confusing
and consistent, pain in the ass
and plucky persistence.

Yonder comes Miss Daisy,
wonder  how can I tell? I can
tell her by the  apron and the
dress she wore.

O let the  midnight special
shine it’s everlovin’ light one
me
