I recollect making an immense
big deal out of the word

INCOMMENSURATE

last class and I'm sure I never
justified my love.

I claimed it was a crucial if not
immaculate concept reminding
me how I forget to remember
why I always have here & there
a problem in communication, a
failure to communicate..

I measure apples in the
terms of oranges—
and they are:

Because I can, I measure an apple
in the terms of an orange but what
I get is an orange-ified apple which I
forget I orange-ed.

In fact, even 2 apples are
incommensurate to
each other

Really, when I get right down to it,
I can't measure Apple 2 in the terms
of Apple 1—without 1-ifying A2—
know what I'm saying?

INCOMMENSURATE

It's LIKE calling a rock “hard”—
forgetting hardness is an emerging
ratio between my butt and granite:
a relationship, a relativity..

I do it all the time:
I do it all the time:
call IT as I see IT.

It is commensurate with my nature
to measure one deal in the terms of
another and both deals in terms of
me.

I measure the whole in terms of parts
and this class I assess in terms of my
self, and I confess: I JaneGoodall-ize
the monkeys

How could it be other wise?

Call me Freddy Flatlander: I assess a
Sphere in terms of circles. I am Joe Fish:
my wet & dry is all wet. My goodwife
is SamScoville-zed and likewise I guess
her Sam is Ann-ified.

INCOMMENSURATE

I study darkness with my flash lite—
expert on Egypt.

Though I DO do it constantly (and must),
I can NOT measure some deal ( xyz) in
terms of another (abc) without reducing
& contaminating the ONE with the OTHER,
know what I’m saying: a miscegenation,
mix of species & meta-force: an epistemo-
logical inadequacy if not flaw if not
factored in. .

INCOMMENSURATE
COMMENSURATIONS

It hurts.
The damage done, damnit.

I could go all my life with an orange-ified
version of APPLE and never even realize.
my criminal lack of discriminating
discrimination, nailing down
whatever in my own
terms and wondering
why IT hurts.

Moving Violations.
Ongoing existential gilt
& original spin: monkey-
wrenching & forcing the issues.
