Spirit & Letter of the Law

Pre-Ludic

Although I my self surely would
flunk
examination in at least 7
of our
8 Gen-Ed Require-mental
Studies
(no matter how stated),
I am addicted to & infected by
the imaginative
literary art,virus,
worm,
meme, bug, it's black magic
got
me in thrall: affective if not
effective application of creative
processes & the appreciation of
artistic work gone wild.
A wanna-be.

Ludic
2 Economies:
(Liberal Art & Liberalarts)

What I know as deep grammar
everyone knows. An occasional
Obama provokes tears as
testimony. “Yes we can.”

Sometimes a Parker Palmer calls
IT up, invoking courage to teach:
let your life squeak! he implores
& I’m momentarily moved,
filled with Ransom Fellowship.

“Yes” I say. “That’s the way to do IT.”

Don’t matter the talk tokens, I hear
rightness through surface sentences;
and all cliché versions violate the deep.
Imposters. Lecteurs.

Surface grammar:
Convenient Common Sense
obligated to Letters of the Law:
Twist, Tweak, & Twiddle de
Dumb to get it write

Basis for Mission Impossible
(The Liberal Art)

Turn up the difference between
deep & surface; put it in play:
spark the gap with immaculate
conceptions: buzzards, wings
gently tilting against the wind,
circle to sustain the breech.

Post Ludic

I oughtn't be morose when
the Common Sense rules and
people conform. I am the
one out of it—projecting
incommensurate out-of-it
values on incommensurate
in-it folks--yearning for
connection: the sparking.
