Doctor Doctor
Dear Ali,
I like your Dad and appreciate
his thoughts and observations..
Reminded me of Ben Holden..
Hurt & Be Hurt.
The first notion I identified with.
Don't think he said it that way.
My translation, moving violator
& constant rip-off & crime against
the Whole: however attentive I'm
profoundly attention deficient
to all the rest. .
IT"S why I feel "guilt."
Of course.
Or call it "Angst"
--classy upgrade
since the Age of
Enlightenment &
Reasons Why.
One out of 20 of us: psychopathic?
Pathological, at least.
Pathetic--I am. Or better:
"damned" in the original sense:
"damaged."
Damaged & Damaging.
Can't say IT that way on Oprah,
" vulnerable" will do--or you can
probably get away with "wounded."
A secret. Tell IT?
Or Hold IT close?
Mask, or uncover?.
Ambivalent:
No telling in any General Way
A matter of Timing & Situation.
"Don't think you can know the
culture of the Other," your
father said. "Don't even
try."
"Know that you can't know.
That'll do you much better."
Giving thanks here.And appreciation
for his manners of speaking. .
