Epistemologic :
 
Our various Ways  of Knowing
 (processes, methods, underlying
assumptions  &  hypotheses,
controlling & hidden metaphors)
as opposed to what ?

Of course, once we package-up
the ways-we-know, it becomes  
knowledge-content inventory
rather than inventing and no
longer epistemologizing. 
True?
 
IT’s always that way:
we noun-ize our verbing
and  vice versa:  reduce our
verbalizing to some solid state
& nominate denominations to
make our stereotypes. Mash-up
it’s called these days.
 
What are you going to do about it?
Nothing to be done except sometimes
be aware of the fundamental difference
in a house divided by Nominalization
and Verbalizing and work it to eco-
logical advantage so as not to be
confusing things and no-things:
matter and whattsa-matter.
 
  LEARNING:  the dilemma
 
To consider learning in terms of  
 
1)  a change in whole-system calibration
 or
2)  as a  problem in self-correction  from
     moment to moment
 or
3)  as  surrender to the boundary  between  
    X)   conscious self-correction  and
    Z)   unconscious  obedience to inner calibration.
 
“Surrender” is a curious word here, yes?  
And “obedience.”
 
We teach in-terms-of Conscious Self-Correction
from moment to moment: you assign some THING
& I get it right  (good) or wrong  (repair). Like
shooting a rifle or basketball at a fixed  target &
given a rating, assessment, accreditation, evaluation
& grade on each shot—as if each shot  were
a big deal.
 
As opposed to emphasizing the recalibration that
occurs over many “shots” in time as the process
becomes automatic (semi-to-unconscious): shotgun
shooting from the hip at  moving targets so Obama
can hit a 3-pointer spontaneously on the campaign trail. .
 
               Shoot first. Think later.
 
The kind of learning that privileges shooting before
thinking  might could be called  “transformative” if
Jeanne & Ali could agree & teach us but we don’t
seem  to have good shared terms for fitting-it-in to
thought fullness and we  assume  IT happens by
focusing on  be-here-now seize-the-day
moment to moment self-conscious
I think I can I think I can
self- corrective process.
 
Which it does not.
Oh contrary.
