Rigor and the Mothers Of Innovation

Mothering  Innovation

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin
of little minds....Imitation is suicide.

(Emerson, “Self Reliance:” Google and
read if you don’t know this ultimate
empowermentalist essay: it could provoke
your whole Human Nature semester paper:
agreeing, disagreeing, modifying, qualifying,
taking issue,…)

Dear American Literati, Reader in Humanities
and Dialecticians & Colleagues Across the
                   Curriculum

   (Stalwart Pioneers Towards Frontiers
           Yet Unknown Series ):

If I could  teach you to tolerate and maybe even
practice speaking out of 3 sides of the mouth at
once, I would consider it my Service Project,
if not my contribution to evolution

But I have to overcome or shake down  the
common  sense addiction to clarity and single-
mindedness,  coherence and consistency—not
that there’s anything  wrong with THAT: it’s
exquisitely  practical & useful & instrumental
to be “clear” and make to on-the-same-page
sense (even if we all individualistically must
maintain our self-reliant right to remain off
the page at the same time, — On it yet not
Of it, so to speak.

(Yeah, I hear what you’re saying  and will
go  along with you for the  sake of argument
until I find it necessary to object, qualify,
tweak, quibble,   yes butt in the name of
sustainable converse action….)

Imagine being able to express or represent
1) some on-the-one-hand (any thesis) and
2) its on-the-other-hand ( antithesis) AND
3) the  complementary relationship between
the 2  hands while doing no injustice to either!

Imagine being able to HEAR that triadic ensemble
without fusion or confusion, without collapsing or
conflating the differences and the relationship.

Got to admit: that would be  awesome all ways
--saying and hearing out of three  sides of mouth
at once.

But you couldn’t get  away with it anywhere
without being accused of contradiction or paradox
—or just  plain confusing the issues interfereing
with the getRdone, coverground, verify objectives
and measurable outcomes.  Practice this kind of
trinitarianism in Witherspoon and see how  long
you last.

Got to know when to holdem and when to foldem:
when  to talk common sense and when to venture
toward frontiers yet unknown, a stalwart pioneer.

The Mothers of Innovation  Triad

                       no sense at all
          parabolic (parable) "throwing" beyond

 common sense...................  non sense
symbolic: “throwing"..........dia-bolic: throwing
together”............................across,  apart

Imagine:  Playing only 1/3 or this dynamic.
That would be 1/3rd assed, yes?
Play and
Be Played.
School and Be Schooled.
Throw and Be Thrown.
Or what's a college for?

xxxooo, Sam
