“Energy” on the one hand
“Information” on the other:
as radically different and
incommensurate as matter
and spirit, material and
pattern, body and soul,
heart & head, affect and
intellect, feeling and
thinking, nature and
mind, analog and digital,
show and tell,  noun and
verb, velocity and place,
a mess of  angels &  the
head of the pin on which
they dance, dance, all
they want to do is
dance..
 
Bust a rack of billiard balls
and some smart physicist
can measure impact and
trajectory  and give a good
account of the spread.
The Reasons why.
 
Kick a small dog and no one
can say for sure what he’ll do
and where he’ll go, how fast
he’ll run.  We could place
bets.
 
Given the in-common experience
of impact (energetics), what’s the
significant and telling difference
that makes a difference  between
shooting pool and kicking a dog?
 
How much can be explained in
terms of ENERGY?  What do
you want to call what can’t be
explained,  determined,  predicted-
for-sure by energy-talk?  Are the
balls  “informed” by  impact from
the cue?  The  dog—“informed”
by the toe of a boot?
 
Where do you use the notion
inform/information and where
do you use the notion energy/
energetic?   How do they differ
(energy/information) and how
do they relate?
 
You might not bother to worry
about it—energy/information
the difference & relationship,
but  merely use both terms for
their emotive value like “awe-
some”  and “terrific” and  “o
my god”  because so much of
what we call communication
is expressive and phatic—hey
how you doing pat on the back,
can’t  we all just get along, I feel
good, I feel bad: high  energy
today and good hair, some what
informed about this and that but
I’m lying low this morning,
conserving my energy; wake
mewhen something important
happens.   
 
Energy IS physical, physical!
Information is NOT: not matter
but whattsamatter? Can’t touch
this. I can BE informed.
Can I  inform myself? 
Energize myself?
Others? . .
 
Coal, wood, wind, sea, oil, corn,
nuclear, electrical  motive and
e-motive power of persuasion
& auto-mobility—round round
I get around one way or another
some ratio of energy &information
working together—yawn—to
fill my chaos, inform my
random to order
relations.
 
And which is more important?
Which counts more? Energy
concerns or Informational?
Physical or Immaterial?
Substance lapsing
Insubstantial
lapsing into
substance….
 
Are you more interested
1) in the angels or
2) the head of the  pin or
3) the  relationship between
the 2  & where that  relation
might be said to be located
and take place so as to
impact?.
