Cause & Effect
The sound of one hand slapping
started the Middle East Revolution
going on; earthquakes, tidal waves
& nuclear melt-down generating
emerging phenomenon & values
are challenging my sense of
sustainability & my best laid
plans, aims, & measurable
goals..
Not that there’s anything wrong
with that. Got to be prepared for
what I’ll never be prepared for,
my boy scout marching song.

sitting motionless on his piano stool
as a chaos of coughs, birds, bodies
shifting in seats & outside traffic
emerged as a concert it always is:
hap happening happily like it or not.
“This puts you in accord with
nature in her manner of operation.”
Cage was talking in composer-mode,
as creator creating—not in consumer-
mode as consumer consuming.
