The Name is Never the THING Named

I know my name for IT is not what IT
is.  So I  name names knowing better,
denominate nominations freely knowing
they never will be the Thing Named

     Rowing Across the Atlantic
 
Which I manage in my "office," called
"study" and "studio" in the summer—
solitary activity mixing meta force &
insular     (No! man IS an island):
 
The idea is to do nothing uncalled for
to have "no purpose" which John Cage
claims is the "highest purpose" putting
“one in accord with nature in her
manner of operation”
 
Uncanny & incommensurate: alien in
every way and hostile to the values of
work and service (getting R done ).
 
            Epistemology.
 
If I had a cat I’d call it Sneeze-Maker
& the name would carry  blame/explain,
interpretation,  because of my affect &
     reasons why my nose runs.
 
Poison Ivy I call Itch-maker, same reasons. 
Rock:  I name  hard,  seeing as that’s how
it  feels to ME however it might feel to
     itself, assess its so to speak.
 
(Doubt Cat considers himself Sneeze Maker
or Poison Ivy an itch, but my epistemology
don’t factor-in the other side of the relationship
& ignores ratios etcetera etcetera etcetera.)

Ignorant Irrationality:  I admit it.. No denial
                 No cover up.

Irrational.  Just my side counts & makes the
call and names the names:  you got a problem
with that?.  Never the less.
 
          Faculty:  I call The Rhino

solid, stolid protective coating resistant
to rice and gadflies, impenetrable, heavy
weight, heroic homeostatic (self-corrective)
& homeland secure—all its parts &
partialities less than the whole even in sum
and so Rhino All the Way Down through
& through, so  to speak at least that’s how
I  see it and how it occurs to me: thus the
name & designation:.

    My story and I'm sticking to it
