Presbyterianism

Colleagues, My Colleagues,
           My Young Professionals:

A presbyter is an old guy, geezer, elderly elder.
Can you imagine? Filters attenuated. Peer pressure
diminished.  Somewhat if not  considerably out of the pox.

Incommensurate: the values of youth and age.

One may almost doubt if the wisest man has learned anything
of absolute value by living. Practically, the old have no very
important advice to give the young,  their own experience has
been so partial, and their lives
have been such miserable failures…

(Thoreau)

Speaking out of 3 sides of the Mouth

More “alive” when most deadened. Most deadly when most
alive. More present  when absent—More absent when present.
Greatest strength  when weakest. More un-conscious when
most conscious.  Most  attention deficient when most focused.
More ignorant when most knowledgeable.  Most possible when
impossible  Most out  of control when most in control. Most
purposeful when purposeless. On track  when aimless.
Immeasurable when measurable. Win the battles: lose the
wars. Most stunningly stupid when smart.

An Enemy’s as Good as a Buddha

You complete me: your accusations round me out:  fulfilling my a
lways necessarily half-assed estimation  biasing my belief
systematically, sustaining my attentively efficient self-
conscious assessment of aims,  goals, purposes  &
measureable outcomes,  countering my natural
born blind ambition and deaf deliberation with
your beyond-the-Sam-view  points and
perspective.  Amazing grace:
how sweet it is.
