I'll Huff & I'll Puff

      RIGOR or INNOVATION?

No myn can serve 2 magisteries.

Of course day-to-day in real-time these
2 notions are in-play generating dynamic
ratios  and they don't Just Get Along because
naturally and appropriately hostile to each
other.

But absolutely, in terms of an overall
ENVIRONMENT, which do we choose
                     to serve:

        The Values of RIGOR ?
                         or
    The Values of INNOVATION ?

(See Gary Hawkins re the 2 Economies"
                same deal)

Nobody loves an Either/Or (listen for Faux
Dichotomy, Sam)--but that's what's required
if we want a BRAND.

It makes a difference what we collectively
salute: which set of values determines, shapes,
and fashions our general studies if not our
academic program if not our teaching/learning
style of of liberal art education, SAC & its
Assessment & Warnings not with standing.

If RIGOR: then plan accordingly.
Let it be our means for retention
and survival and SACS complicity.

IF INNOVATION:  we might have to
consider zero-base thinking up from old
scratch reinventing some wheels  and
anticipating emergent values & properties
& hopefully keep BB Wolf at bay, lord knows
how he's huffing and puffing.

       IT's  an environmental issue.
