Loco Food:: Gardening Wihout Tuxedos

Loco Food
(Gardening Without Tuxedos)

My classes suck.
Waste time.  Sitting on the dock of the bay.
Watching the tide wash away. Confuse.
Demoralize—disillusion if lucky. Antithetical
and antagonistic to Rigor, Clarity, Consistency,
Coherence,  Covering-Ground, MovingOnDown
theRoad, GetRdone. Aims. Goals. Rubric
Generated  Measurable Objectives

Dominant academic values and pair of
dimes: I respect and appreciate and salute
them all.  Wouldn’t be the  man-I-am today
were it not for some what all those values.
Finished  Product Values.  Consumer  values.
Grade Point Average Values. Patter n Values.
Patriarchal  Values. Digital  & Discrete and
Left-Brained  Values.  Practical and
Instrumental Values.  Values anyone would
want one’s heart,  neuro surgeon and airline
pilot to hold dearly.  Rocket Science Values.

Cicadas buzz  over head in the Groves of
Academe. Our ancestors, Socrates called
them   “It’s not easy being green.”

I said Right-Brained but it’s the Left-Brain
that dominates—so to speak  and to
rationalize, distinguish and separate . The
principal stood behind me in 4th grade—
forbidding  left-handedness:  rescuing me
for an adroit world. In the early 60’s
a Philadelphia Dr.realized damaged patients
could reanimate dead function if they
re-trained the other side of their brains,
family and friends giving hours moving
the incapacitated limbs through crawling
motions  simulating very early childhood.

A friend of mine crawled thru Bucks County
fields for a month to prepare for law school
exams—guessing  it would stimulate synapses.
Invigorate the corpus callosum. I shifted from
left to right-handed writing in the mid 70s
because of  carpe diem  tunnels  and also
to get smart and smarter.   I told students
of this practice and one asked: “are you any
smarter?”  “Oh, yes, “ I replied.  “Significantly
so.”
